It's coming up all tulips! Just in time to get us out of our winter blues comes the latest collection from OPI - Holland. Capturing the colour all the things Dutch, this collection is a little cheesy, a little risque and wooden shoe know it fun! Enough with the puns, let's get serious. We sat, one on one, with Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, VP Creative Director at OPI, to talk about the latest collection, where the inspiration comes from and how OPI comes up with those clever names time and time again.

 

 

Our One on One with Suzi Weiss-Fischmann

BC: What's the process you go through when choosing names?
Suzi: It's a democratic process and majority rules. But George and I have veto power just like the UN.

BC: Have you ever run into any hiccups with names?
Suzi: We did in Australia one year. What we thought was slang and funny was quite offensive. We always look to our international distributors for help with names.

BC: Where does your inspiration come from?
Suzi: I love travel, food and colour and my biggest inspiration are my kids. I make sure I pay attention to everything around me in order to see the trends.

BC: Which colour out of the Holland collection speaks to you?
Suzi: I love Herring so I ensured that we had a colour that spoke to that.
