Smashbox Creates a Porcelain Complexion for Lucian Matis Spring Summer 2012 Collection

Released: November 11, 2011

The look for the makeup at the Lucian Matis show by Smashbox? Very strategic and very porcelain. National Trainer and lead makeup artist for the evening Shawn Hlowatzki spoke to Beauty Connexion about the look he created to showcase Lucian Matis' Spring and Summer 2012 collection.

"It's an avant garde look to Spring and Summer". "Using Smashbox's The Grid to give the face the illusion of lift and structure" says Shawn. When applying your foundation, to get the illusion of lift, start in the middle of the face and apply outward. Shawn continues on to say, "when wearing a red lip go for a nude base lip liner, a red lip liner and red lip colour ages you. The nude base lip liner also allows the lip colour to bounce off the lip for a more saturated lip colour".

Creating the Porcelain Complexion:
Smashbox The Grid
1. Hydrate the complexion with moisturizer and apply Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Primer.
2. Apply the new highlighting illuminating Halo Wand in shades gold and pearl, placing across the forehead, cheeks, and chin for luminosity.
3. Next is Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Foundation SPF 10, an oil-free and light weight formula in one shade all over. Apply a lighter shade in the grid pattern for the illusion of lift.
4. Apply Halo Yellow Colour Correcting Powder as a corrector and then Hallo Hydrating Perfecting Powder shade used on the perimeter and into hairline. Reduces the look of redness and aging.
5. Brush Luminous Tinted Moisturizer over top for a youthful smooth finish.
