Contessa 23rd Annual Award Winners

Last night the 23rd edition of the Contessa's was held in Toronto. For those not familiar with the Contessa Awards, they are Canada's longest running, and most prestigious awards honouring excellence ad creativity in salon professionals. 1,200 industry individuals were in attendance to celebrate the finest in Canada.





And the Winners are....drum roll please

Elite Master Stylist: Guylaine Martel, Guylaine Martel Artistes Coiffeur, Mont-Saint-Hilaire
Beauty Connexion spoke to Guylaine backstage prior to the show. Guylaine was excitedly nervous especially being nominated for Elite Master... "'I am in very good company in the Elite Master category and if I win, I will be accepting the award on behalf of myself and all the nominees." Canadian Hairstylist: Véronique Beaupré, local B, Montreal

Master Colourist: Timothy Switzer, Timothy & Co. Salon & Spa, Oshawa
Timothy is one of the up and coming in the industry, in the past four years he has been nominated 14 times. And last night he took home Master Colourist and Makeover Colourist of the Year. Timothy spoke to Beauty Connexion prior to the awards his tip for our readers "Listen to your stylist, they are the trained professional and know what suits you."
