Hair Style Trends From Hair on the Avenue

by Editor

Whether you are bored with your hair, are inspired by someone's hairstyle or colour, want a new you and new look, a new hairstyle and colour can be a great pick me up.  104 times is the average that a woman cuts, colours or changes her hairstyle in her lifetime. Think of when you leave your hair stylist and how great you feel, almost as if you were walking on air. You can't stop touching and feeling your hair or looking in the mirror - admit it we all do it! So whether it's number 56 or if you're going for number 105 we say go for it with one of the latest trends from Hair on the Avenue.

The team at Hair on the Avenue lead by Luis Pacheco ( Founder and Master Colourist ) have been responsible for setting and translating those trends on to their clientele's hair. The fellas share with us the hair trends for the upcoming season.

This season hairstyles celebrate the medulla. What's that you say? The medulla ( not the medusa ) is the inner-most part of the hair shaft that determines your hair colour and style. How this translates to the trends, it means embracing your own unique hair style and owning it. One that comes to you genetically.

The Trends By Hair on the Avenue

STYLE: The Doll-face
Doll-face inspired cuts are asymmetrical and edgy but remain dainty and feminine, enhancing facial features. “Women with structured faces (as opposed to round) typically gravitate towards these cuts, however, the great thing about the style is its versatility: it can be altered according to a woman's age or personal style. For instance, older women can opt for a longer bob and adventurous ladies can seek an edgier look (shorter at the back and longer in the front OR shorter on one side and longer on the other). It's all about finding a look that is unique and suited to the individual.” -Tony Pham

TEXTURE: Intrinsic
Hair is natural and allowed to exist as it should be.  “Recognizing your hairs natural elements will nourish your texture and keep your hair healthy,” says stylist, Anthony Ingraldi, “Embrace your curls and let your waves flow, confidence will ensue,” he adds.

COLOUR: Rich
Colour, for once, has taken a back seat to style.  Even though it has taken a back seat there is still a stand out colour for the season - gold. “Think bronzy browns like Jennifer Lopez or light coppery golds like Jessica Chastain.  Jessica Chastain being my favourite!” -Luis Pacheco

And being the visual guys that the Hair on the Avenue team is, for the second season in a row they have produced, under the direction of Peter Tamlin, a short featuring this season's trends.
