Laura Armstrong
artist; philanthropist, student; nerd; who loves to embrace change.

What are you doing in 10 minutes, 10 months and 10 years from now?
10 minutes: The dishes.
10 months: I hope to be finished grad school and working full time for an international charity.
10 years: Self employed and worldly!
Who inspires/inspired you?
Mary, the founder of the charity I work with in Kenya. She has a ton of drive and determination, especially for a woman living in a third world country.
Who do you want to inspire?
My generation. The ‘up and coming 20 something’ crowd is an amazing group to work with; they continue to offer support to my company and cause.
What do you love about yourself?
I am pretty daring. I like a challenge and I embrace big changes- rather than running from them. I get bored easily so I constantly push myself to keep things exciting.
What would you change about yourself?
I want to be better at answering tough questions on the spot! When I have time to write out what I want to say I am always proud of my answers. When interviewed on the spot I sometimes go blank and then think of a great answer 5 minutes later.
What is your biggest learning experience?
When you are always looking for the best in people you can’t always see the rest in people. I have learned to not let people take advantage of me because I am waiting for their ‘best side’ to come out again.
What was the last city you visited?
London, Ont., my hometown.

Name the one thing you cannot leave the house without?
My phone.
True confession time. Name your guilty pleasure?
Documentaries. I watch them all the time. I want to study documentary film as a Masters one day!
What are 3 words your best friends would use to describe you?
Kind, Aware, Nerdy.
What 5 words would you pass on to anyone listening?
Dedication, Education, Passion, Perseverance, and Patience.
Coffee or Tea?
COFFEE!
