TARGET PARTNERS WITH NEIMAN MARCUS
July 10, 2012
Growing up in a border city we were all too familiar with Neiman Marcus and the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. Each year we would anxiously await for the catalog not because it was Christmas ( or Holiday as we like to refer to it in Canada ) but because of the extravagant present options. Neiman Marcus was so ingenious in coming up with inspiring ideas that were affordable and some that were out of reach for the masses but inspiring nonetheless. So we were over the moon when we heard that Target and Neiman Marcus were getting together to launch more than 50 limited-edition gifting items created by 24 preeminent designers beginning December 1, 2012.
Maybe not as extravagant as previous NM options as a $420,000 tour of European flowers shows on a private jet or a custom-built library filled with 250 books by Assouline but we are hoping they are just as inspiring.
The Target + Neiman Marcus Holiday Collection includes an eclectic and diverse mix of more than 50 limited-edition gifting products. The collection ranges from $7.99 to $499.99, with most items less than $60. Designers who created pieces for the collection include:; Alice + Olivia, Jason Wu, Proenza Schouler, Altuzarra, Judith Leiber, Rag & Bone, Band of Outsiders, Lela Rose, Robert Rodriguez, Brian Atwood, Marchesa, Rodarte, Carolina Herrera, Marc Jacobs, Skaist-Taylor, Derek Lam, Oscar de la Renta, Thom Browne, Diane von Furstenberg, Philip Crangi, Tory Burch, Eddie Borgo, Prabal Gurung, Tracy Reese
To celebrate the unprecedented partnership, Target and Neiman Marcus are donating a total of $1 million to the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). The donation underscores the retailers' long-standing commitment to fostering design talent and recognizes the 24 designers, all of whom are members of the CFDA.
