My Khol Eyeliner melts and smudges in the summer. Is there a fix?
With all the extra humidity in the air in the summer, wearing pencil eyeliner can sometimes be difficult. It looks great when you leave the house, but even within 5 minutes of being in the heat you may find the liner is no longer on your eyes but creeping down towards your cheeks. Not to worry though, there are options to avoid the raccoon eye look.
Switch to a liquid/gel eyeliner. The texture of a versus a khol pencil is quite different and dries pretty much instantly so it is resistant to smudging or running such as Maybelline Master Precise. Liquid eyeliner is also more precise and may give a bolder look, to play this down just sweep a dark shadow over top for a less dramatic look for day.
Try an Activator to keep eyeliner in place. Laura Mercier Tightline Cake eye shadow with activator, it is a long lasting shadow that when applied with a flat eyeliner brush will give the same look as an eyeliner pencil, while standing up to humidity.
Dust khol eyeliner with powder. A light dusting of setting powder may do the trick on some days that are not as humid. Add powder on top of the eyeliner and as well below the eye to set your under-eye concealer to reduce the chance of raccoon eyes.
Smudge the liner. If you can't beat them join them and smudge the liner on top and on the bottom.

These options will give you the look that you want without the hassle of smudging and running. If a pencil is still your preference choose ones that are waterproof and smudge proof. And don’t forget, when the sun sets and the humidity levels drop, you can probably pull out that pencil again!
