Help I've nicked my nail polish.

I went to bed after painting my nails and woke up with nicks and indents on them, how can I fix this?

After just freshly painting your nails and going through the usual rigamarole to dry them ~ sitting still with your hands or waving your hands about or blowing on your nails ~ you go to bed thinking your nails are dry.  You wake up the next day with little nicks or indents.

The reason this happens is that nail polish can be deceiving, it can feel dry to a light touch, even seem fine when a little pressure is applied, but it can actually take over an hour to completely dry.  So, as you sleep and your hands rest on the fabric or you put your hands through your hair or whatever may come in contact with your nails, any long term pressure can create the little indents in the polish.

You can avoid this happening by doing a few things:

QUICK FIX

If you are already late and need to run out the door, just quickly swipe a clear top coat over your nails, make sure it is a quick dry formula.  This additional top coat will fill in the indents.

NEXT TIME

After you have just freshly polished your nails, add a drop or two of OPI Drip Dry as this speeds the drying time to less than 5 minutes. At this point you can go about your day.. (shown above OPI Drip Dry)
