From suede to peep-toe or leather to vibrantly coloured, ankle boots, or more commonly known as 'booties' are tearing up this falls runways and lining store shelves. Ankle boots are a fun and edgier alternative to a pump or stiletto, but unless you are six feet tall, pulling off an ankle boot can be tricky.
There is definitely a right and wrong way to wear a bootie. If you weren't blessed with endless legs than try and stick to these simple rules until you find your boot niche. Go for a mono-chromatic look; wear a dark boot with a dark pant to create a streamline look and if going bare-legged try and pair with a nude or neutral coloured boot. Most fashion faux pas happen when wearing a bold coloured boot; it will draw all the attention and give the illusion of a cropped leg, not a good look, especially if you don't have any leg length to spare.
An ankle boot is perfect for any look, from edgy chic to office attire. They can be worn with trousers, skinny jeans, skirts and dresses.
