AGE SPOTS, BROWN SPOTS, LIVER SPOTS OR HYPERPIGMENTATION
Age/brown or hyper-pigmentation spots are caused by over production of melanin and the age process and cause uneven skin tone. Those that get freckles are more prone to get age/brown spots. By decreasing the melanin production, existing spots will fade and will not come back to the same intensity (if you stay out of the sun). Follow this routine for hyperpigmentation to lighten the appearance of age/brown spots.
Daily Routine - Step 1 - Cleanse
Cleanse as recommended in the section for your skin type: Oily or Dry or Combination.
Daily Routine - Step 2 - Treatment - Age/Brown Spots
Find a product that combines many of your concerns or layer each product one on top of the other. Remember the more products the less chance they may have to penetrate as they will be fighting to get to the dermis layer.
Look for products that exfoliate by speeding up the cell turnover, those that lighten the skin and decrease melanin production
Daily Routine - Step 3 - Moisturize/Hydrate
Moisturize/Hydrate as recommended in the section for your skin type.
Daily Routine - Step 4 - Sunscreen
Use a minimum SPF 15 or greater with broad spectrum UVA/UVB formulation. If you are prone to age spots the sun will cause them to get darker so always wear a sunscreen.
TIP: Once the age spots lighten it will be even more important to wear sunscreen as those spots will come back with exposure to the sun.
Weekly Routine
Weekly Treatment as recommended in the section based on your skin type.
